Food is Medicine

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” – Hippocrates

The United States of America enjoys a diverse abundance of low-cost food, spending a mere 10% of their disposable income on it. Since we demand such cheap products, farmers must cut corners and become “economical”. The percentage of revenue that makes it back to the farm which produced the food is a fraction of what it historically has been. Just 16 cents of every dollar spent on food in 2015 went back; in 1975 it was 40 cents. This dynamic has created a beastly cycle that is making our society sick beyond measure. The most unfortunate aspect of our current production system is that store prices do not reflect the external impact that occurs to produce such low-cost food. These include economic, social, and environmental destruction. These all adversely affect the sustainability and nutritional content of our food choices. When one considers the full life cycle of the U.S. food system, it helps illuminate the connection/corruption between consumption behaviors and production practices.

The Big Three

Our food system is broken. It is not based on a closed-looped model; when nothing within the system uses external resources to function. We instead exist linearly; every stage operating independently of the one before and after it while being dependent on outside input to exist. Wholesome vegetables, fruits and meats that were once full of nutrients and vitamins are now full of industrialized chemicals that are manufactured to resemble food…Frankenfood. Our main choices consist of The Big Three: wheat, corn and soy. Check the labels on most packaged or processed food and there will be at least two ingredients from one of them. They can come disguised as soy lecithin, maltodextrin, caramel color, etc., these are all derivatives from The Big Three. These monocrops that have taken over small farming operations are in turn causing the world-wide hunger problem. It is minimizing our selection of domestically grown vegetables. Some alarming statistics:

  • Lаrgе-ѕсаlе fаmіlу fаrmѕ ассоunt for оnlу 2% оf the total, but 35% of all production.
  • Smаll-ѕсаlе fаmіlу fаrmѕ ассоunt fоr оnlу 26% оf рrоduсtіоn but rерrеѕеnt 90% оf U.S. fаrmѕ.
  • Frоm 1997 to 2007, tоtаl сrорlаnd decreased from 455 mіllіоn асrеѕ to 408 million acres.
  • In 2012, fаrmеrѕ were reliant оn income sources outside thе fаrm tо mаkе up 80% оf thеіr household іnсоmе.
  • Fаrmеrѕ ассоunt for 1% оf thе рорulаtіоn and their average age is increasing.

Not only are these Big Three in anything packaged but all industrialized animal products that originate from a CAFO (Commercial Animal Farming Operation) have been grain-fed (meaning wheat, corn or soy) and their meat is harmful for you. According to a study published in the US National Library of Medicine, “Research spanning three decades suggests that grass-based diets can significantly improve the fatty acid (FA) composition and antioxidant content of beef.” (Here’s the section of the study that was relevant. We italicized it and highlighted the important part if you wanted to skip over this section, if you would like to read the full article click here.) Grass-based diets have been shown to enhance total conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) (C18:2) isomers, trans vaccenic acid (TVA) (C18:1 t11), a precursor to CLA, and omega-3 (n-3) FAs on a g/g fat basis. While the overall concentration of total SFAs is not different between feeding regimens, grass-finished beef tends toward a higher proportion of cholesterol neutral stearic FA (that’s the good cholesterol) (C18:0), and less cholesterol-elevating SFAs such as myristic (C14:0) and palmitic (C16:0) FAs. Several studies suggest that grass-based diets elevate precursors for Vitamin A and E, as well as cancer fighting antioxidants such as glutathione (GT) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity as compared to grain-fed contemporaries.

Everything Is By Design

From the Earth and its ecosystems, down to the way our city streets are mapped out and orchestrated to run efficiently and quickly, it is all designed. Our bodies are no different. There are multiple systems working together that allow us to function as one complete unit. Like a web, those systems are connected in amazing ways. It starts with your beating heart of the Circulatory system. That blood then feeds the Lymphatic system (immune system). The Lymphatic system is connected to the brain. Our brains are fed by our digestive system which then impact our Lymphatic System. It’s all intricately designed. Our bodies were made to run at a homeostasis (balance) naturally. Cutting edge research is showing scientists that bacteria and microbes play a vital role in that balance. When the balance gets thrown off, there are catastrophic results.

  • One third of American’s have type II diabetes.
  • It will cost approximately $14,000/year per person to treat.
  • It takes an average of five years for a person with diabetes to become aware of it and 88% of those people don’t know they have it.
  • Half of the American population has a chronic illness.
  • 30% of children have a chronic illness.
  • The Department of Defense sites chronic illness as an existential threat stating that by 2040 100% of the Federal budget will go to healthcare.

Gentically Modified Organisms (GMO’s)

Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are living organisms whose genes have been artificially manipulated in a laboratory through genetic engineering. This creates combinations of plant, animal, bacteria, and virus genes that do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding methods. Thе release оf GMOѕ іntо thе еnvіrоnmеnt аnd thе marketing оf foods derived frоm GM сrорѕ have rеѕultеd іn a ѕсіеntіfіс and рublіс dеbаtе. Dеѕріtе the publicized bеnеfіtѕ оf thе application оf genetic engineering іn аgrісulturе to іmрrоvе the ԛuаlіtу аnd thе reliability оf thе fооd supply chain, the negative effects of these crops far outweigh any potential positive ones. Genetic engineering has resulted in monocrop domination, stronger pests/bugs, stronger bacteria, a decrease in the nutritional content of crops, an increase in chronic illnesses as well as a decrease in the average age of onset, and more. The most detrimental aspect of GMOs is how much glyphosate is found within and on their flesh. Glyphosate is a pesticide that kills bacteria and pests. Part of the genetic engineering is that this carcinogen has been put into the crops genetic code. A “round-up ready” crop means that the fruit and vegetables being produced already have the Round-up pesticide within them. How can it not have detrimental effects on people? Scientists have recently linked it to cancer. This high concentration of glyphosate is causing the flora in our intestinal track to malfunction. Humans are nothing more than fancy conduits for the proliferation of microorganisms. So, basically, we are more than an organism, we are an ecosystem; Welcome to The Gut Biome!!! This entity within all of us affects mood, depression, behavior and motivation. The gut microbiomes, which outnumber our human cells 10:1, have been here since ancient times. According to a research paper (click here to read it) written by Jeanne D’Brant, an Associate Professor of Biology and Allied Health at the University of NY, our gut microbiome’s are responsible for creating neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are what allow the synapses in a person’s brain to fire and function. She states that “genetically modified foods present serious health risks to humans including altered gastrointestinal function, immune disorders, infertility, accelerated aging, and insulin dysregulation.” “Since GMOs were introduced in 1996, the percentage of Americans with three or more chronic illnesses went from 7% to 13% and we have witnessed an unprecedented rise in autism, food allergies, digestive disorders, and reproductive issues. GM foods are believed to be contributory to the diabetes and obesity problems in the population, now seen at epidemic levels.” Less than 20% оf соrn аnd ѕоу plants wеrе genetically еngіnееrеd іn 1996; bу 2016, 92% оf corn аnd 94% of ѕоуbеаnѕ wеrе gеnеtісаllу modified. Why? The food has changed over time. Producers like Nabisco, Kellog’s, and Hershey’s have partnered with scientists and psychologists to create a product that feeds our intrinsic addictive hungers.  Almost like designer heroine that’s legal. The craving is real, but don’t be fooled. Those parts of your brain that make you engorge on sugar, fat and salt are forcing you to do it. The pieces of us that have historically driven us to survive are just doing exactly what they were made to do. When people were designed 200,000 years ago sugar, fat, and salt were scarce. When we miraculously happened to find some in nature our brain told us to eat as much as we could because there was no telling when it would be found again. Well, fast forward to present day life and you can now find sugar, fat, and salt on every corner, but your brain (which hasn’t changed in 200,000 years) doesn’t know that those substances are now abundant. We are hard wired to eat foods that if overeaten will kill a human. Pizza, bread, grain-based desserts, fruit, alcohol, and fried chicken are the most eaten foods in America. Each one of them high in sugar, bad fat and salt. We can’t help but give in.

What Can We Do

The best thing we can do as consumers is to make different choices at the grocery store. When you shop stay on the perimeter of the store. Read all the labels on packaged food. The most important things to watch out for are; mono & diglycerides, margarine, aspartame, low-fat labels, hydrogenated anything, all vegetable oils (including palm, canola, corn, safflower, cottonseed, soybean, and sunflower), sugar, salt, and pasteurized dairy. These ingredients are mutations from an original source which are then highly processed. Vegetable oils are treated so much they need an additive to mask the horrible smell they take on. Margarine is vegetable oil made to resemble butter. Pasteurized dairy is cooked at such high temperatures, all the good bacteria and nutrients that milk has naturally is destroyed. Aspartame is fake sugar found in most diet, sugar-free and low-fat foods. It is worse for you than sugar and has been linked to cancer. Pregnant women are not supposed to ingest it. One could argue that the problem lies in the human influence on basic foods. So, what is ok to eat? Basically, if it comes from the Earth and is in its original form, it’s good for your body and it contains nourishment. From an ancestral aspect, meat, fish, wild berries, veggies, nuts, seeds and starchy, fibrous plants are a complete diet. Our gut biome thrives on fermentable carbohydrates including fiber like inulin. We don’t need processed carbohydrates like breads, pastas, and rice.

non-traditional food pyramid

The corrected food pyramid

The food pyramid farce that has been perpetuated by the FDA is currently ass over tea-kettle. Instead of carbohydrates at the base of the pyramid and fats at the tippy top, it should be the opposite. Our bodies, especially our brains were designed to run off good fats and a tiny bit of glucose. Nuts, coconut, avocado, seeds, sesame, olive oil, little wild fishes, these are all sources of healthy Omega 3 fats. The kind of fats that feed your brain. When choosing meat, eggs or dairy, pasture raised is the only option. Not only is the nutritional content higher and healthier, the taste is superb. Raw dairy is also important and can provide many phytonutrients and bacteria that our bodies need. Buy from local producers as often as possible. Fasting for at least 18-24 hours is super beneficial too and has been shown to have profound effects on our bodies. When you fast, autophagy is triggered. This is an increased cellular self-cleansing process. Cells clean out the bad and regenerate to fix the damage. It is technically a rebirth within your body. Fasting has been found in many ancient cultures and traditions. The easiest way to make a change is to think like a pre-historic hunter and gatherer before there was agriculture. A time when mankind had to hunt for every meal and periodically skipped one or two. When survival was key and only the strong made it. If our choices had been different, humans would not be here today. Obviously, their diets were key to our survival as a species. Don’t be overwhelmed. The path to healthier food choices is not easy. The addiction to sugar and starch is real.

You are not alone though. The more we learn, the easier it is to say no.

No to industrialized meat and oil.

No to white sugar!

No to processed food.

All we have is Bliss.

One Love.

Kratom; History, Uses and Effects

Kratom; History, Uses and Effects

History, Uses and Effects

Kratom is a tropical tree native to Southeast Asia, the Philippines and New Guinea with leaflets producing psychoactive (mind-altering) properties of chemicals (Prozialeck et al.).  It is known as “kratom,” as “ketum” or “biak” (Malaysia), or as “krathom” (Thailand), and “thom” (Southern Thailand) and has been used for millennia (a) as a stimulant; (b) as a remedy in traditional medicine; and (c) in social context (NCBI). It is not considered an illicit drug and can be quickly ordered on the open market from multiple sources. Kratom is known as a medicinal extract obtained from the leaves of an evergreen tree, Mitragyna Speciosa.

There are a few ways to ingest Kratom, you can chew the leaves, brew tea or swallow it dried. Some companies offer a saturated solution that has been infused with Kratom. The solution is often advertised as a muscular pain alleviation, or to subvert cravings associated with opiate use and stop nausea and indigestion. It is also sometimes marketed as a form of heart disorder therapy. It acts as a pain reliever at low concentrations and makes users seem highly energetic similar to amphetamines. At larger concentrations it decreases pain and can bring a euphoric feeling as well as opioid like effects. It functions as an anesthetic in very high doses meaning that patients feel calm and are even able to fall asleep. Many people who follow conventional Asian medicine believe kratom is a replacement for morphine (NCBI).

Kratom is used widely in social settings like concerts and festivals as well as other leisure environments. Those who are using it for it’s relaxing effects say it is normal and healthy since it is plant-based. The concentration of the psychoactive component in the leaves can differ considerably, however, rendering it challenging to assess the impact of a specific dosage. Kratom contains many other indole alkaloids that are structurally related to mitragynine, including mitraphylline, speciogynine, speciociliatine, pay nantheine, ajmalicine, and 7-hydroxymitragynine. Mitragynine is the major component of Mitragyna speciosa with a reported concentration as high as 6% by weight of the dried plant material and as much as 66% of the crude base (FDA)

Depending on how it’s processed it may be very risky to take kratom, based on what is in the herb and if the user is ingesting any other drugs, prescribed or illicit. Purchasing kratom from a reputable seller is paramount to safety. Salmonella outbreaks have been identified from tainted products (FDA). Here are some of the awesome benefits (WorldHealth):

Pain Relief

Pain is the most prevalent problem that can be managed with Kratom leaves. Pain is categorized according to where it stems from, and what areas of the body it impacts. Kratom leaves are effective for curing pain of all sorts, but it deals particularly well for neuropathic pain. Binding to pain stimuli found in the central cortex and anywhere else in the body, the leaves alleviate pain.

Mitigate Anxiety

Another potential health advantage is an improvement in mood. Various scientific findings have shown that Kratom helps promote a productive frame of mind and simply encourages people to take a more constructive outlook on life. Although Kratom is not an opioid, it causes symptoms somewhat close to those of opioid drugs including morphine, codeine, and other pain-relieving, tranquilizer drugs obtained from opium. If someone ingests the leaves, mitragynine attaches to opioid channels found in your body that are essential for mood control. You start becoming less depressed and more optimistic as a result.

Enhanced Cognitive Ability

This is yet another psychological advantage you can obtain by using the leaves of Kratom. Human’s minds will only work at their best if they obtain enough energy and nutrients generated from the metabolic system in the body. The liver produces microsomal antibodies in both phases I and phase II, which digest Kratom into different alkaloids. These alkaloids are then processed in the brain and in return provide energy to the user.

Managing Diabetes

This is probably one of the Kratom leaves’ lesser-known advantages. Research however indicates that Kratom might have beneficial impacts on body sugar rates. The alkaloids contained in the leaves could help amplify blood glucose and insulin levels. The leaves avoid the risky rises and declines correlated with diabetes by holding the level of these two chemicals in control, which helps keep diabetes at bay while still allowing those already impaired to handle the disease. Whether you have obesity or diabetes, you may take Kratom to further reduce the craving for caffeine, candy, and other things that may contribute to those diseases.

Improving Focus

Kratom leaves bring sedative properties, so you may wonder if the leaves will help you stay focused. This triggers the release of acetylcholine as you eat it. Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that plays an important role in improving concentration as well as mitigating pain, muscle tension, and endocrine system control. Acetylcholine increases memory and concentration, by increasing the capacity of the cortical receptors to react to sensory stimulation. These results are particularly good for students who are trying to concentrate on their current lessons while still being able to recall items that have been studied months ago. Kratom also causes serotonin and dopamine activation, both of which are related to improved concentration, mental capacity, and mood.

Enhance Energy

Kratom leaves are renowned for their tremendous metabolic effects which enhance the levels of energy in the consumer tremendously. These leaves, according to research, stimulate some physiological activities while improving others, thereby increasing the ability of the body to produce electricity. Kratom leaves unexpectedly have an effect of enhancing blood circulation. With increased blood flow, more oxygen is carried to your essential cells in the body, which subsequently influences how quickly those cells digest food for energy production. Throughout strenuous exercises, the leaves may have a positive effect by greatly minimizing the rest period in between sets.

Recovery from Addictive Substances

Kratom packs impact like opioids but is only a partial opioid receptor, unlike opioid drugs. The primary explanation as to why the leaves are used by doctors for managing overdoses is that it delivers comparable stimulation to opioid medication but does not include the hangovers or possible addictive qualities. The leaves can help relieve specific symptoms correlated with opioid addiction, such as nausea, fatigue, insomnia, and mood fluctuations, and as an all-natural drug, Kratom provides less and milder adverse effects. People who self-treat severe pain are recognizing Kratom as a solution for opioid withdrawal.

It is noteworthy that Kratom may trigger interactions with herbal supplements that may lead to toxic chemicals in the cerebral cortex. Buyers may encounter oxidized or tainted goods, especially if they are obtained from unofficial websites or the darknet, due to the largely uncontrolled market for Kratom products in western countries (Veltri and Grundmann).

The FDA tends to warn customers not to use Kratom. It is not currently sold as a medication or nutritional supplement in the United States and although it is necessary to collect further information, data shows that certain kratom compounds have opioid characteristics that introduce patients to the possibility of abuse, violence, and dependency (FDA). Because it is not illegal in the country but placed under the “Drugs and Chemicals Under Concern” by the FDA and has opioid-like effects, there is a possibility of an increase in its use instead of the many opioids’ drugs. However, since there are no clear instructions on the use of Kratom from the FDA and there is no proven medicinal use, it is best to research it oneself and not assume it is a replacement of Opioid abuse for everyone. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 47,000 individuals were affected in 2017 from overdoses including opioids and 36 percent of such deaths included prescribed opioids (CDC). If there was an herbal remedy that would alleviate some of these annual deaths, that would be amazing.

In conclusion, much more exploration is needed to determine if Kratom is beneficial or detrimental. Doctors and scientists are needed to conduct blind studies that subjectively analyze the effects its. Based on the preliminary and limited research, Kratom seems to be a viable and beneficial alternative to many prescription medications. Opioid abuse is a nationwide epidemic and if there was a safe alternative, many tragedies could be avoided.

Sun Gazing – Sun Healing

Sun Gazing – Sun Healing

“Praised be You my Lord with all Your creatures, especially Sir Brother Sun, Who is the day through whom You give us light. And he is beautiful and radiant with great splendor, Of You Most High, he bears the likeness.”

-Canticle of Brother Sun and Sister Moon by Saint Francis Assisi

Sun gazing

Sun gazing, also known as: sun healing, solar observation, solar yoga, Surya yoga or sun yoga, is becoming more and more popular. It is the practice of ‘staring at the sun’ and is nothing more than the discipline of looking at the sun directly at specific times of the day for a certain amount of time. People who practice sun gazing are believed to receive nourishment, healing, and spiritual enlightenment as well as a release of tension and anxiety. It is very important though to adhere to the rules of this practice. Not following the steps specifically can have lasting detrimental effects.

Hira Ratan Manek

The current guru of sun gazing, Hira Ratan Manek, is a devout follower and claims that solar energy allows a person to live without eating since it provides the body with all the necessary nutrients. He claims to have lived more than the past ten years without consuming anything but liquids. Surviving on the practice of sun gazing alone. Although established modern science rules out that the sun could ever provide some kind of direct nutrient that can replace food, yogi Hira Ratan Manek is living proof that one can from only sun, water and a little buttermilk. Several scientists have studied these solar claims of Hira Ratan Manek, including the president of the Indian Medical Association. During one study, Hira spent 411 days without food and did not experience any loss of his bodily or cerebral functions. Aside from losing 18 kilos, nothing else was found. In 2003 Hira turned himself into NASA laboratories to be studied. They watched him 24/7 for 100 days and confirmed Hira’s statements. General belief is that after 8-10 weeks without eating a person is in danger of dying.

While not all followers have reached the same extreme as Hira, after two years of practicing sun gazing, they are clear that this practice has positive effects on the body. Even after sun gazing for only a week, people noticed that they felt “much happier”. After a month they had gained a great “clarifying ability” in the face of conflict. This is attributed to the feelings of tension and worry being alleviated. The idea of sun gazing originated in India over two thousand years ago with the teachings of Mahavir de Jain, also known as Mahavira or Vardhamana, the founder of Jainism. Jainists believe that every soul is divine and that we all have the ability to reach a God-consciousness. Forms of sun gazing therapy were also practiced by the ancient Egyptians, Aztecs, Greeks, and Mayans. It can also be found in Tibetan yoga and some Far East traditions such as Qigong and Tai Chi.

What is sun gazing about?

Everyone has told us including parents, teachers, doctors and conventional scientists that one will go blind from looking at the sun. According to several practicing people, this is false. The act of sun gazing or sun healing, is one of the most beneficial things a human being or any other animal can do for physical, mental and spiritual improvement. When you look at the sun (specifically during the first hour of sunrise or sunset), the electromagnetic energy given off goes around your physical state and enters straight into your brain to recharge your batteries and balance your body. All without causing loss of vision in the process. The idea that governs this ‘therapy’ states that when looking at the sun (only during the first hour of sunrise or sunset, otherwise it would be harmful) the body receives the energy of that star. This energy is enough to cure some diseases, provide well-being and help the person to clear their mind. Believers of this technique argue that the human eye (some say that even the whole body) has some type of photovoltaic cells capable of converting solar energy into vital energy.

The healing properties of sun gazing

The Sun; it gives us light, heat and is responsible for water cycles, our food chain, time, balances nature and ecology. That is to say, without this star, there would be no life on Earth. How much of a reach is it to say that the Sun’s rays have therapeutic qualities? People definitely get important Vitamin D from exposure. It sounds paradoxical because what is usually heard is that its radiation is harmful and dangerous to health. Vitamin D though is responsible for the absorption of calcium and magnesium and is acquired by exposure to the sun, in short periods. There is a documentary at that goes into depth discussing the science and research associated with sun gazing.

Sun gazing objective; Balance

The ultimate goal is balance. For one to obtain optimal physical health and perfect mental stability. The Indian teacher Hira Ratan Manek, who since 1962 has been investigating the therapeutic properties of the sun. He has also looked at its’ cult throughout history. Since 1995 he has lived only on solar energy and liquids of water, teas, and occasionally buttermilk. He describes the practice; “Do not eat except sometimes tea and other infusions. With the Sun Gazing, we make our photosynthesis. We take the photons of the Sun, which constitute very powerful energy, a nectar that is not polarized in positive-negative” according to Manek.Sun Gazing The method used by sun gazers is to see the sun every day near dawn or dusk when the ultraviolet rays are below an index of 2. The first day one must look in the sun for 10 seconds, and each subsequent day must be done by 10 more seconds, increasing daily like this until reaching 45 minutes a day. This process would work as a kind of photosynthesis in which inert brain functions are activated. It is said to activate the pineal gland, which has the vestiges of a retina and is considered the seat of the third eye or spiritual eye (also called the secret sun). For more information on the pineal gland, click here. Hira Ratan Manek says that his pineal gland has been examined by scientists and is growing (usually with age this gland shrinks).

How to perform sun gazing

HRM has established a protocol to observe the sun and indicates that sun gazing should only be done in the “safe hours” i.e., one hour within sunrise or sunset. Otherwise, the technique may have detrimental setbacks.

This practice consists of the following:

  1. Look at the sun starting for 10 seconds on the first day and increase 10 more seconds every day, until reaching 45 minutes. One can maintain the 45min for 3, 6 or 9 months, depending on the benefit you are looking for.
  2. Look at the sun in the first hour in the morning, or at sunset (the last hour of Sun). The first hour of the sun starts counting since we can look at the sun. Similarly, the sunset is when the solar disk disappears on the horizon, not when the luminosity ends.
  3. If you can’t see the sun due to buildings or mountains you can look at the reflection of the sun in the water between 11 am and 3 pm. This process is done by taking a bowl of mud and filled with water, between 12:00 and 15:00 we turn our gaze to the reflection of the sun in the water for as long as appropriate.
  4. If you can do barefoot on land or sand, it is better. In case you do not have land, do it with footwear. If you do it barefoot, do not do it on asphalt or cement.
  5. Once the 3, 6 or 9-month process is finished, maintenance must be given for 1 year to sustain the life benefits.
  6. It is acceptable to break up the time between morning and evening. For example if you are up to 10 minutes, it can be split up to 5 at dawn and 5 at sunset, as long as you take the amount that is required for the day.
  7. When you reach 90 days, you will watch the sun for 15 minutes only. If you are physically healthy, perform the following maintenance routine for 1 year to achieve physical health for life.
  8. At the end of the first three months of gazing for 15 minutes, the person achieves perfect mental health. This is prior to any healing of the body and enlightenment.
  9. On day 91 look at the sun 14 minutes, on day 92 look at the sun 13 minutes, and so on until you reach 5 minutes. Continue with 5 minutes to complete 365 days, additional to the first 90. If you have any eye disease, you will feel improvement after 60 days (10 minutes). Upon reaching 180 (six months), healing will reach the mental level and anxiety will go away.
  10. Finally, always keep in mind that the contemplation of the Sun must be done in the safe hours. When you have reached nine months of practice, you will be around 44 minutes. This is the maximum. It is time to either stop or perform the maintenance routine. If one day you cannot look at the sun because it was cloudy or for any other reason, you can resume the routine the next day at the time you left off at on the previous day. It always increases 10 seconds compared to the last time you looked at the sun. If you lose several days, don’t worry. Keep adding 10 seconds, the breaks do not affect the process.

The “discovery” of the sun as a source of energy and well-being is not exactly new, although Manek has established a concrete process. The cult of the star king comes from afar and has already been practiced by all civilizations and religions in one way or another. When looking at the sun for therapeutic purposes it has been known throughout history. The ancient Hindus called it ‘Surya Namaskar’ while the Egyptians and Americans baptized it as heliotherapy. The Europeans called it Apollo Therapy.

They all believed in this basic premise: The root of all diseases is a physical weakness. When the body weakens, it stops working optimally, and harbors a weak immune system. By receiving more sunlight the body will increase the defenses, improving its inherent immune power and self-healing abilities. All this will be reflected in the physical body, since, with a peaceful mind, the body is able to heal itself, letting go of allergies, respiratory disorders and all kinds of diseases. We have all enjoyed sunrises and sunsets for long periods without suffering damage. In the same way, if we practice safe sun gazing during the recommended hours, we will obtain good mental, physical and spiritual health. Sun gazing is necessary to improve and relieve all health problems. When this practice is added sun exposure, drinking charged water and walking barefoot on the ground, you get free health care without insurance.

In ancient times, ancestors performed a practice that consisted of looking at the sun during specific periods. This activity is called sun gazing or also known as the art of eating the sun. These people dedicated intervals of their day to be able to look at the star king, with the purpose of first paying tribute to the sun and second possessing spiritual and energetic healing. It is important to mention that this activity must be carried out in certain spaces of the day to avoid that the rays produced by the sun don’t become damaging. In this sense, the sun gazing must be performed in the morning hours with the first rays of the sun and the late hours of the afternoon, when the sun is about to disappear. Earth’s curvature is shielded by the atmosphere at these times. Scientifically it has been found that during these periods the sun’s rays are at a lower level which makes them ideal for the application of this activity.

Many of the experts who have evaluated the performance of this activity ensure that, at the time a person practices Sun gazing, it is possible that through the transmission of energy, one captures all the energy from the sun. It is presumed that the fact of performing the Sun gazing for only three months is of great help for the improvement of mental abilities. Doctors indicate that the human being, under normal conditions, is only able to use 1% to 10% of its total brain capacity, however, the fact of looking at the sun at sunrise or sunset daily, for 45 minutes, contributes to the improvement of the use of the cerebral hemispheres. It also helps in the possibility of releasing stress and is even believed to be able to eliminate the existence of diseases.

Water and Fluoride

Water and Fluoride

Water and Fluoride

Water is one of the most important and undervalued resources we have on the planet and here’s why; There is no new water being created on Earth. The water that is here now is the same matter that was here at the beginning of time before the dinosaurs. Because of that, statistically speaking, within each one of us we have a water molecule from Ghandi and Buddha as well as every other living being that has walked this planet. When NASA determines if a planet is habitable, they look for water. A human being can only go 3 – 4 days without it. Water is necessary for all the biochemical metabolic processes in the body, which are the foundations of life. Even though it’s everywhere most of it is contaminated. Fluoride is the silent attacker, the worst among all impurities.

The body is comprised of 60% water. One would think that a species so dependent on one special commodity would take better care of it and value it. Instead, humans take clean water for granted. The impurities/chemicals that can be found in domestic drinking water, the radioactive waste that is pumped into the Florida aquifer by a local chemical company, the lead in the tap water of Flint, Michigan; these are just a few examples of people wreaking havoc on a finite resource.

Wаtеr is thе universal solvent, аnd in nаturе, it is nеvеr еntіrеlу рurе. Nо mаttеr hоw isolated water іѕ from ѕоurсеѕ of соntаmіnаtіоn, іt wіll always hаvе trace сhеmісаlѕ in it. Gases оr minerals that originate іn the air, soil, оr earth are easily dissolved bу thе wаtеr. Some dіѕѕоlvеd mаtеrіаlѕ can give water its сhаrасtеrіѕtіс tаѕtе while “рurе wаtеr” is gеnеrаllу соnѕіdеrеd tо be flаt аnd tаѕtеlеѕѕ. Minerals can саuѕе hаrdnеѕѕ (calcium or mаgnеѕіum), соlоr changes (іrоn), as well as rаdіо асtіvіtу in thе water. Humаnѕ саn cause contamination thrоugh thе іmрrореr use of реѕtісіdеѕ or fertilizers and waste dіѕроѕаl. These factors can all play a role in water contamination.

Groundwater gets filtered from much of the harmful material when it percolates through the many layers of soil that can contain dissolved mіnеrаlѕ аnd ѕаltѕ.  It is generally harder than ѕurfасе water, аnd іt uѕuаllу соntаіnѕ mоrе iron аnd magnesium. As ѕtаtеd еаrlіеr, wаtеr in nature іѕ nоt pure. Thе ѕuѕреndеd іmрurіtіеѕ аrе less lіkеlу found in groundwater due to ѕubѕurfасе роrоuѕ ѕоіl/rocks, like limestone, асting as a fіltеr. The farther down the water percolates, the cleaner it becomes.

Mіnеrаlѕ аnd іmрurіtіеѕ are typically present іn mіnіmаl соnсеntrаtіоnѕ, аnd аrе mеаѕurеd іn раrtѕ реr million (ppm) (that is how many раrtѕ оf impurities are found іn a million ріесеѕ оf water) оr milligrams реr lіtrе (mg/l). Sоmе contaminants саn also bе measured in раrtѕ реr billion (ррb) оr micrograms per lіtrе (μg/l). Thе terms аrе еԛuіvаlеnt аnd аrе uѕеd interchangeably іn water аnd wаѕtеwаtеr.

Dереndіng upon nаturе, impurities саn bе сlаѕѕіfіеd as either: Phуѕісаl, Chemical, or Biological.

  • Turbіdіtу: Turbіdіtу іn the wаtеr indicates thе рrеѕеnсе оf suspended or соllоіdаl insoluble matter, іnсludіng соаrѕе раrtісlеѕ (mud, ѕеdіmеnt, sand, сlау, ѕіlt еtс.) that ѕеttlе rаріdlу upon standing.  In some саѕеѕ, different salts аlѕо impart turbidity іn wаtеr. Thе соllоіdаl substance аnd ѕаltѕ mау bе іnjurіоuѕ to hеаlth.  Thе turbіdіtу оf feed wаtеr ѕhоuld not exceed 5 ррm. Thеѕе mаtеrіаlѕ саn be rеmоvеd bу ѕеttlіng, coagulation and fіltrаtіоn. Their рrеѕеnсе іѕ undеѕіrаblе because hеаtіng or еvароrаtіоn рrоduсеѕ hard ѕtоnу ѕсаlе dероѕіtѕ on thе hеаtіng ѕurfасе & сlоg the fluіd system.
  • Cоlоr: Wаtеr gеtѕ соlоr from thе discharge of industries lіkе сhеmісаl, tеxtіlе, рареr etc. Yellowish соlоr іndісаtеѕ thе presence оf chromium аnd an аррrесіаblе аmоunt of оrgаnіс mаttеr. Yellowish rеd соlоr indicates thе рrеѕеnсе of іrоn, while red-brown соlоr indicates thе presence оf peaty matter.

Bіоlоgісаl contamination of wаtеr іѕ саuѕеd bу thе рrеѕеnсе оf lіvіng organisms like algae, bacteria, рrоtоzоа, раthоgеnѕ, microbes, vіruѕеѕ, pаrаѕіtеѕ and thеіr еggѕ (cysts), еtс. known collectively аѕ micro-organisms and соmmоnlу called ‘germs’.  The development оf pathogenic bacteria, funguѕ, vіruѕеѕ etc. in wаtеr іѕ саuѕеd by unhygienic practices such as improper disposal of dеаd bоdіеѕ аnd discharge of raw ѕеwаgе іntо a rіvеr wіthоut treatment. This is reѕроnѕіblе fоr wаtеrbоrnе dіѕеаѕеs. Thе health effects оf drіnkіng water contaminated wіth gеrmѕ mау be severe and fatal if gone untreated, but еаѕіlу сurаblе with modern-day mеdісіnе. These microscopic living оrgаnіѕmѕ іn wаtеr аrе thе causes of dіѕеаѕеѕ like typhoid fеvеr, dysentery, сhоlеrа, gastroenteritis, etc.

  • Aсіdѕ: thе wаѕtе products оf some іnduѕtrіеѕ ѕuсh as bаttеrу factories, explosive factories contain acids. If thеѕе waste рrоduсtѕ are dіrесtlу dіѕсhаrgеd into thе rіvеr, thеn іt will bе harmful tо life and wіll dеѕtrоу ѕеlf-рurіfісаtіоn рrореrtу оf water.
  • Inorganic соmроundѕ: Thе wаѕtе products оf industries that make fertilizers, oil refineries, and textile factories соntаіn ѕресіfіс іnоrgаnіс соmроundѕ. Thеѕе соmроundѕ mainly соnѕіѕt of ѕulрhіdе, аmmоnіа еtс. which are hаrmful tо lіfе.

The most harmful chemical that is added to our drinking supply is fluoride.

Nursery Water label

Fluoride іѕ a rеduсеd form оf thе сhеmісаl еlеmеnt Fluorine. Fluоrіdе can оссur naturally іn water supplies frоm insignificant amounts to dаngеrоuѕlу hіgh concentrations. Sіnсе the “discovery” оf its hеаlth bеnеfіtѕ іn the mіd-1940’ѕ, fluоrіdе has been widely added to thе public wаtеr supplies оf most industrialized соuntrіеѕ tо reduce thе population’s tooth dесау, whісh they say іѕ еѕресіаllу uѕеful іn low-income communities, whеrе gооd dеntаl hygiene may bе too соѕtlу. That is the mainstream belief that is fed to the general public. The truth is quite the opposite.

The chemical compound that is commonly added to city tap water is not the same as the “naturally occurring fluoride”, but a by-product of phosphate mining which is a process to make fertilizer. This by-product is a hazardous waste. According to an Origin’s journal article by the history departments of Ohio State University and Miami University:

“The practice of adding fluoride compounds (mostly FSA and occasionally sodium fluoride) to drinking water is known as community water fluoridation. It has been a mainstay of American public health policy since 1950 and continues to enjoy the support of government health agencies, dentists, and numerous others in the medical and scientific community. Many are surprised to learn that unlike the pharmaceutical grade fluoride in their toothpaste, the fluoride in their water is an untreated industrial waste product, one that contains trace elements of arsenic and lead. Without the phosphate industry’s effluent, water fluoridation would be prohibitively expensive. And without fluoridation, the phosphate industry would be stuck with an expensive waste disposal problem.”

Several іnduѕtrіаlіzеd nаtіоnѕ hаvе ѕtорреd artificial wаtеr fluоrіdаtіоn, uѕuаllу bесаuѕе of political opposition оr аltеrnаtіvе wауѕ оf fluoridation. Sіnсе thе 1970’s those соuntrіеѕ are: Gеrmаnу, Sweden, Netherlands, the former Soviet Unіоn, Czechoslovakia, Fіnlаnd and Jараn. In ѕоmе аrеаѕ fluoridation іѕ a соmрlісаtеd аnd еxреnѕіvе process, еѕресіаllу in undеr-dеvеlореd соuntrіеѕ.

  Hеаlth Effects of Fluoride Exроѕurе

Dеntаl fluorosis is thе mоѕt іmmеdіаtе еffесt оf wаtеr fluoridation. Fluоrоѕіѕ іѕ a disease whісh mоѕtlу affects сhіldrеn 8 years old or younger, during tооth development. Fluorosis іѕ not a рublіс health соnсеrn аnd оnlу rеаllу аffесtѕ tееth соѕmеtісаllу, lеаvіng white ѕtrеаkѕ оr dots оn thе enamel оf a tooth. Hоwеvеr, thе еffесt of рrоlоngеd fluоrіdе consumption оn humаn рорulаtіоnѕ іѕ ѕtіll being ѕtudіеd bу the Wоrld Hеаlth Organization (WHO) аnd thе Cеntеrѕ for Dіѕеаѕе Cоntrоl (CDC).

Cоnѕumрtіоn of fluоrіdе аbоvе thе WHO’ѕ соnсеntrаtіоn guidelines has mоrе drаѕtіс еffесtѕ, ѕuсh аѕ ѕеvеrе tооth аnd ѕkеlеtаl fluоrоѕіѕ, which can саuѕе brittle bоnеѕ/tееth, jоіnt іmраіrmеnt аnd роѕѕіblе damage tо thе thуrоіd glаnd. Oрроѕіtіоn tо water fluoridation has сlаіmеd it increases thе rіѕk of bone саnсеr, аlthоugh thіѕ is ѕtіll being ѕtudіеd. Oрроnеntѕ аlѕо claim mоrаl аnd human rights vіоlаtіоnѕ, duе tо it bеіng an involuntary ‘mass medication’ аnd that consumption of fluоrіdе іѕ not соntrоllеd dереndіng on the іndіvіduаl. This mеаnѕ thаt children, реорlе who ѕwеаt hеаvіlу, реорlе wіth kіdnеу рrоblеmѕ and оthеr impairments hаvе a hіghеr іntаkе than the аvеrаgе population.

Thіѕ suggests thаt Fluoride mау be a dеvеlорmеntаl nеurоtоxіn whісh can affect brаіn dеvеlорmеnt аt exposures wеll bеlоw thаt which саn саuѕе toxicity іn аdultѕ. These ѕtudіеѕ аrе nоt conclusive, ѕо mоrе research іntо Fluоrіdеѕ’ еffесtѕ are nееdеd. In the meantime, there is a “fluoride tester,” which measures ppm. They are a bit pricey, selling for around 170$ for a decent one, but it is a sure way to keep a monitor.  Click here for a tester. Like our own bodies being comprised of liquid, so are our foods. When foods are cooked, fluoride becomes even more concentrated within the water…it is especially important to keep this in mind when preparing food such as soups, coffee, or tea.

Clean water is of great significance to our future as a species. It contains no calories so it is literally not a food but is still the most vital thing we consume. Fluoride can not only damage our bones, teeth and intellect but it can also severely impact our intuition by affecting the pineal gland(for more information click here). Fluoride can cause it to calcify and harden until it isn’t anything more than a rock at the tip of our spinal cord.

  Ways to Clean/Filter Water

To stay healthy, we don’t need pure distilled water, but rather water that contains a sufficient and healthy array of minerals and salts. Rainwater from non-industrialized areas is the cleanest water to harvest. The key is not to be near any factories or heavy air pollution. In nature, clouds do the distillation…a simple rain bucket set up under a drain spout is the cheapest method.

In part, another natural way of the Earth to filter water is through its’ sediments. Depending on where you are located, groundwater may be right below you. It moves in subsurface seams, veins, or streams. After it rains, the water soaks into the ground and settles deep within the Earth’s mantle. Trickling down slowly causes all of the impurities to be filtered out and reabsorbed by the earth. The deeper the water goes, the cleaner it gets. If the ground is soft and the water table is shallow, then hacking/picking dug wells can work. Sometimes though, heavy equipment may be needed, and permits pulled from the county which you reside.

If there is any chance of contamination, it is best to filter or clean water before drinking.

Boiling is the easiest way either using a conventional stove or hot rock method. The rock method involves heating up stones over an open fire and then putting them into the water. Keep adding rocks until it boils for at least 5 but as much as 20 minutes.

Solar Still   natural water filtration using the earth and sun

A solar still is another option. It is a little more complicated than boiling. One must create a contraption to manufacture condensation and harvest it. Using a tarp, or any other piece of plastic, cover a hole in the ground big enough to hold a cup or bowl. Place any substrate that has moisture in the hole but around the cup (or bowl). After covering the hole place a rock in the center of the tarp to create a concave section directly ove r the cup (or bowl).

 Grass/Charcoal/Sand Filter

This filter is mWater filter using layers and natural elementsade using three sticks that are propped up in a teepee form and three layers of filtration. Each layer consists of a piece of material stretched out between the three sticks. The grass is contained at the top layer of the apex. Sand is second and charcoal is at the bottom. Fun fact: charcoal can be made by burning wood and using the leftover charred matter. Pour water in at the top layer and watch it filtrate down into a vessel at the bottom.

Water is paramount, not only to our survival but to our success as a dominant species. In order to evolve and thrive, we need to have a sharp instinct and a healthy body. Drinking plastic bottled water isn’t always the way, sometimes it’s worse. Drinking from the tap can be good but sometimes has drawbacks, too. Tap water often runs through pipes many miles before reaching your home…possibly accumulating heavy metals en route. Mineral water is ok when exercising or sweating profusely because you lose minerals and may need to restore. Being aware of the possibilities and pitfalls is the first and most important step.

 One Love.

The Beginning

The Beginning

Different civilizations throughout human history have impacted our modern-day society but none as much as the Sumerians. Sumeria was the first known major society and is credited with the firsts of many things including: the wheel, modern city structure, irrigation and agriculture, law, government, writing, business transactions (particularly bookkeeping), trading, religion, cosmology and origin myths. (Kramer)

The Beginning

The start of the Sumerian civilization is unclear, just like many things in history. What we do know is that they appeared around 10,000 BCE (Mark) in the fertile crescent between the Tigress and Euphrates rivers. They were Indo European with many different people making up a whole society. They had a few important things in common though among the cities like beliefs and according to their myths in the beginning, gods ruled over the Earth.

When they came here, they saw that a lot of work needed to be done. Anu was the god of gods, and he agreed that the labor was too great, and his son, Enki, brought the idea to create the man to bear that labor and with help from Ninki he did that. These laborers lived believing that they were here only for the benefit of the gods and that those gods controlled every aspect of their lives (Sitchin).

What a lot of people don’t know is that the Sumerian civilization managed to expand due to a variety of factors. Not only was this civilization very smart, but at the same time it was also nestled in a very advantageous area. The major Sumerian cities were located right along the rich river valley. Since many regions nearby were full of deserts and barren land, having a river and farmland managed to help make them prosperous.

Sumerians are also known for being one of the main important cultures mainly because they were innovators. They used their location to start trading and traveling. The early settlers had a bit of a challenge because they were dealing with floods during late spring, but they learned how to control it with the use of dikes. They also created a unique system designed to irrigate the crops and fields naturally (Kramer). This system was later used by the Greeks, Romans and is currently used by modern society.

First settlements and cities

One of the first settlements that the Sumerian civilization created was Ur, but others like Uruk, Eridu, Lagash, Nippur, and Kish appeared, and they managed to grow very fast.  This fast growth allowed them to become independent cities as well as city-states after a few years. Uruk is the first known major metropolis in history (Kramer).

We don’t know the Sumerian capital because the center of power shifted from time to time. Uruk, Erech, Lagash, and Ur were the most important cities and since they became city-states later, it was extremely hard to pinpoint power to a certain location. Each of these large cities played a major role when it came to the expansion of the Sumerian civilization and taking it to new heights.

Rise to Power

Between 5000 and 3000 BCE, the agricultural communities started to grow, and they soon formed cities. They were mostly found near the banks of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers. It was between 2900 and 2400 when the peak of the civilization appeared, and that was due to multiple factors like manufacturing, food production and trade routes.

All these things were very attractive to many of the neighboring countries and kingdoms and as you can imagine, the speedy and expansive growth did become a problem for them. When you grow so large, there will always be people that vie for power and want to acquire it from you.

Judicial System

In order to make sure that every item is recorded and traded properly, many of the tradesmen wanted to create written records of their products. Having a hard copy for those traded items was one of the first signs of accounting in ancient times (Kramer). Traders had to rely on that information, otherwise they would not be able to handle and manage every transaction and item of inventory in a proper manner, something that was extremely hard to do at that time.

They began by using Sumerian writing for record keeping. As time went by, they also started writing contracts to show where the products came from and these contracts were used as proof that they purchased and sold items. This record keeping evolved into Cuneiform, done with a stylus, stamps and symbols on clay tablets (Kramer).

This was one of the earliest signs of a judicial system and it’s an approach that’s pretty much mandatory today. It’s amazing to see that the Sumerian civilization had one of the earliest legal systems in place, albeit in a very rudimentary manner. Nonetheless, every piece of information was there, they just had to track contracts and see whether they were paid or not.

The Sumerian government evolved over time, at first every city in Sumer had its own council of elders, the council being ran by a Lugal, a war leader. In time Lugals became kings and they created their own dynasties. The Sumerian civilization was the first one to establish a democratic system. They allowed people to elect a representative assembly. There were two houses; a senate with important citizens and a lower house created by those that had military duty.

Another important aspect here is that some of the clay tablets from the Sumerian times suggest that they had courts of justice in which people had a fair trial. One of the tablets also records one of the oldest crime trials in human history (Kramer).

Everything that was related to food distribution and production was controlled via the temple. As time went by a noble class arose, and this was due to land ownership, manufacturing, trade control, material wealth and other factors.

They were also some of the first to create amazing clay pottery pieces. Only a few survive nowadays, but they are masterfully created, a testament to the craftsmanship that pottery creators achieved at that ancient time. The Sumerians are also some of the first to use boats, especially round boats with hide added over a wooden framework.

Agriculture and Economy

As we mentioned above, the Sumerian civilization had some great lands to work with, but the challenge for them was that there was flooding from time to time. They developed an agricultural and farming system utilizing dikes and levees, that kept water aside while also having a proper irrigation system that would eventually bring in the water to plants, but in a controlled manner. That was hard to do in those ancient times, but they did invent a great irrigation system, something that’s still used in many places all over the world, albeit in a more modern version.

Sumerians farmed a wide variety of crops, such as turnips, dates, peas, barley, wheat and many other foods. They even raised cattle, fish, sheep and hunted some wildfowl along the river. As you can imagine, there was lots of food and it was one of the reasons why the civilization grew so much. Uruk was said to have over 80,000 people at it’s peak (Mark).

In the beginning they didn’t have copper to create tools, but they did search for it in the mountains to the North and East of their location with success. The Sumerians didn’t learn how to acquire copper from ore until 4000 BCE. By 3500 BCE they had excelled on to making bronze. It was only a matter of time until they would be able to manufacture various items.

They started to create clothes from local materials, not to mention they used stone, copper, and timber to manufacture items that they would eventually sell to the neighboring states. Merchants traveled up the two rivers to the Mediterranean Coast and Anatolia to trade these items.

Trading and Ports

Most tradesmen resided in large cities like Ur, Uruk and Eridu. Some suggest that these cities had up to 80,000 people, so they would be very similar to a metropolis these days. One of the most interesting things about all of this is that the Sumerians used the sea and rivers to get to as many locations as possible.

They were some of the first people in the world that started to travel by water to trade. As you already know, many of these things remain active and normal even these days, a testament to the amazing and lasting impact that they have had on our modern-day society.

Social Norms, Religion and Cosmology

One thing to know about the Sumerian people is that they worshiped hundreds of different gods. Each city had its own deity. They did have principal gods that all of them worshiped, but they also had a single god per city too. One thing to note is that Sumerians didn’t believe in afterlife and they were realistic about human limits. This is something that many religions are still following up to this date.

The center and soul of every city was the temple to the patron god, which was said to protect farmers and the entire city. Aside from slaves, the temple staff farmed some of the lands too, there were rents and offerings paid to the temple operation and those supported the poor.

Sumerians also were very obsessed with studying cosmology. They saw the universe as being one closed dome where we have a primordial sea. Under the earth where was a freshwater ocean named Abzu and the underworld.

Here’s where things get interesting, many of the stories and great epic content created by the Sumerian civilization resides in Adam and Eve, Gilgamesh, Enkidu and the Netherworld as well as many other poetic works (Mark). These works are epic, and it goes to show just how expressive the society was at that time and how many great and progressive ideas they brought to the table. Some of the stories that are recorded in the older Hebrew Bible are very similar to the Sumerian mythology as well. Noah’s Ark is very similar to the Sumerian deluge myth, for example.

Modern Day Influences

As you can see, we are already using many of the systems that were created thousands of years ago by the Sumerian people. It’s rather surreal to see that our irrigation systems, modern law, economy and even the government system we use right now are inspired by what the Sumerian civilization did thousands and thousands of years ago.

We are all taught to believe that Greek and Roman civilizations were the ones that had a very modern society, but the Sumerian civilization was well before them, and they were true innovators for their time period and every time following. Of course, they did end up with numerous wars and military problems. Many of these led to their downfall but during its peak the Sumerian civilization spanned over hundreds of thousands of people. Some of the larger cities were enormous for that time.

With so many firsts accomplished by the Sumerians, they are indeed one of the most important civilizations of all time and certainly one of the most powerful ones as well. Our modern society still has a lot of evidence from the Sumerian systems and ideas, a clear indication that this was indeed the beginning!

Sacred Geometry

Sacred Geometry

Geometry can be found in every aspect of our environment hidden within the many landscapes we see daily. Sacred geometry is what people know as the natural flow of the creations of God and how these make perfect geometrical shapes; because of this, it´s been said that God is the geometer of our lives. These beliefs can be seen in many examples of art and architecture such as altars, churches, and temples. One of the foundations of this principle is the mathematical way nature presents itself, everything we perceive can be perfectly and accurately described through math formulas and equations.

Sacred geometry is an excellent way to fuse spirituality and science in a repeated arrangement of forms. We can see this in nature providing us a window into the web of creation in all life. Various theories have been made, over the concept of geometry as an important aspect for the creation of emotions, feelings and physical responses to our very surroundings. The universe is in constant vibration and this may be due to the geometrical way it has been created and how one of the key concepts, the Flower of Life, is the representation of everything including movement.

History of Sacred Geometry

At the beginning of history in cultures and religious doctrines, like the Sumerians, Egyptians, Hindus, Greeks, and others, they noticed the appearance of many geometric patterns of unique shapes in nature. In addition to this, they realized that they maintained a relationship to the elements present within the ecosystems in which they lived.

When seeing that many of the natural forms they appreciated had these patterns, they realized that it was not only present in the heavens and Earth, but that symmetry appeared in the entire universe. Sacred geometry is so fundamental, it can be seen in the very formation of our molecular structure starting with conception and cell division.

Sacred Geometry of the Heart

The human body has a perfect shape and alignment of its organs so that they can function correctly and constantly. Many of these functions are possible because of the brain and its electric impulses; however, the heart plays its own significant role. It is the valve of our body, the one in charge to inject fuel on our system.

People believe this is because of the sacred geometry of the heart based on the way it has its patterns of veins and arteries much like the universe web. It is in the upper middle torso thus making it easier to control the flow of blood. Many people believe that the heart has its own structural neural system, much like a brain, because it functions in a unique way to keep the other vital organs alive.

Everything in nature has its own heart that functions like ours. On our planet, the Earth’s inner core is what makes its’ rotation possible. Another example can be found in the middle of our universe. There is a black hole which from chaos, spit us out and spun a beautiful web, creating an ever-expanding galaxy. One that is expanding still at an increasing rate.

Nevertheless, the heart is directly associated to the soul, and that’s the reason it’s almost always in a place where balance is primordial; it guarantees a full alignment of the vital energy of its surroundings.

Sacred Geometry and Numbers

To understand sacred geometry, we need to reshape our idea of shapes and numbers, these two subjects go hand in hand, there´s no existence of one if the other is not present. Numbers and shapes unveil the canons strung together in group consciousness.

An insight to the true meaning of both shapes and numbers reveals a necessary evolution throughout creation. This is mostly tied to the platonic solids and how they are in all things. Platonic solids are three dimensional figures formed by polygons that make up five different shapes. However, numbers describe the foundations of sacred geometry. For example, the number one represents the circle as a solid rock that works like a base for every shape and continuous number, much like the unity and the wholeness of the universe.

Following this idea order, we get the number two, which represents the two sides of the universe and the polarity theory of the contrary part of everything. The number three represents the balance, the trinity of mind, body, and soul, and strength. Four represents the square and offers support and stability through its balanced shape. Five is the pentagram. This is an ancient symbol of regeneration and transformation. Six is the Star of David. It is two perfect equilateral triangles interlocking. It symbolizes the meeting of spiritual reality with the material world, “As Above – So Below”.

 The Sphere and the Circle

The perfection and simplicity of the forms can be illustrated in a magnificent way with the sphere, which expresses the fullness, the unity and the integrity of life. It lacks points of preference, or referencing, and the tangible points all start from the center where they are created, going infinitely outward until contained by something.

Almost everything that describes life begins as a sphere, from the simple atom to the complexity of the galaxy. Continuing with the spherical figure, it provides a circular shadow, which symbolizes the inseparable union; as the universe is one and cannot be divided. By overlapping several of these figures it is possible to make other forms such as the five platonic solids: the tetrahedron, cube, octahedron, dodecahedron, and icosahedron.

The Platonic Solids

Platonic solids are perfect patterns of crystals that are formed in nature and which we can see within the creations of the minerals of our Earth in so many variations humans cannot keep count. We can see evidence of the five platonic solids in our earthly elements in nature according to the ancients Greeks being these the Tetrahedron, a representation of the fire, Cube or Hexahedron, to glorify the earth. Octahedron, this is said to make reference to the air, Dodecahedron meaning the ether or the spirits of the universe & the Icosahedron being the geometrical way to represent the water.

All of these elements are said to be perfect and that may be the reason they´re depicted as regular polyhedral figures. Another fact to mentions is that these are dual to each other, meaning that one cannot exist without the other. The structures that make up the five platonic solids are primal since they create with their unity the world we see.

The Flower of Life

The Flower of Life is a geometric structure made up of several superimposed circles, with uniform spacing, arranged in a sequence similar to a flower with six symmetries like a hexagon. This majestic shape is said to be perfect, proportional and harmonious. In the past, heretics believed that sacred geometry held a value in the field of religion. One that represents the primordial norms of space and time.

In an anti-religious manner, it´s believed that it has a kind of Akashic Record which possesses basic information about existence and is considered the visual way of expressing the connections of life.

In the new era, it is believed that the Flower of Life is considered to have a deep spiritual meaning within those people who are dedicated to studying the sacred geometry. There are people all over the world who are believers of meditation methods involving the Flower of Life.

The figure of the Flower of Life also has a relevant meaning in the field of history. It is possible to see evidence of this symbol located in manuscripts, temples, and art scattered throughout the width of the world.

Flower of Life Symbology

Hidden in the Flower of Life we can find some interesting symbols that represent the creation of life itself. The seed of life is composed of seven circles that have a pattern of circular lenses that overlap six times and that is the focal center of the formation of the Flower of Life. It’s believed that this symbology could represent the 7 days in which life was created.

The egg of life is a symbol made up of seven of the circles that make up the Flower of Life. The appearance that these figures superimposed in this way is very similar to that of an embryo in the first hours of gestation, thus observing its close relationship to the beginning of life.

The fruit of life is a symbol formed by 13 circles of the shape of the flower. Some believe that it is a kind of plane of the universe, a plane for the base of the creation of the atom, molecular structure and of life itself, besides you can represent the 5 platonic solids based on this symbol.

The Relationship Between Pattern and Matter

The creation in its entirety carries with it a vibrational theory and energy included. It is set for certain reasons and not just by chance. This energy follows a pattern that can be predictable even when it is constantly changing. The way in which the energy flows directly affects time and space as well as the behavior of the same.

In mathematical terms, we can describe this as formulas or sequences that connect us directly with physical phenomena. It is said that this vibration, together with the energy, determines the way in which we perceive matter. Clear examples of this are atoms, whose difference is in the number of particles that make up its totality. This could indicate that everything in the world is made up of the same material simply arranged in different ways.

Spirituality and Sacred Geometry

Sacred geometry is capable of transmitting energy and consciousness at quite high frequencies. Also, it is said that everything we perceive in the physical world has its sacred geometry plane. Everything is possible when relating it to the plane of spirituality inside the mind, since several of the things in which we believe and think materialize towards a plane of geometrically attainable patterns.

That which is invisible forms the visible. Physical reality and spiritual attraction can be linked through this geometry in the plane where it resides. A clear example of how this works is when we change some formula or mathematical algorithm because by doing this, we will get another result that could lead to another form.

How Can it Affects One´s Life

Every evolutionary process of growth is a process where the symmetry and the asymmetry flow and relate to each other like a river. This is partially based on the principle of tension used in some activities to give a better experience and heighten the senses for better results.

With time and observation, it is possible to observe patterns in the resonance of the universe, thus improving the symmetry of the universe together with its balance. One way to do this is by tracing images of sacred geometry during free time in order to become familiar with it. These mathematical patterns can be brought into your everyday habits, this could be a way in which sacred geometry affects your life.

In Summary

Sacred geometry is important since everything that we know is related to it, from the beginning, to how life goes and turns, and maybe the end of it. The whole meaning of these questions are perfectly described with a circle, the foundation of all the core geometry. Applying this knowledge to your life may help you understand the tight relation between spirit and science.

Understanding how one helps the other flow in the same direction is to get a better perception of life and how it is possible to describe everything around you with shapes and math formulas, logarithms or even numbers themselves.

All that surrounds you is in its perfect shape and formed the way it needs to be. All you need to do to perceive this is to open up your senses and let the natural vibrations of matter guide you to the patterns it makes.

Extinction and Existentialism

Extinction and Existentialism

Extinction and Existentialism

Humanity is on the precipice of the Earth’s sixth major extinction. A businessman who thinks global warming is a hoax brought on by the Chinese (Trump, 2012) is now president of the United States. Isis is taking free will and bombing where they please. What is going on? Are people going to be content to just sit and tolerate what is given to them? If humans want to survive as a species, it’s time to transform to a higher level, a higher state of being. It’s time to shift and mentally evolve to ensure the security of future generations. It’s time to get back to the roots of how the ancients lived. To realize that every individual has power and to fully realize oneself and give one’s life meaning.

Previous civilizations have existed anywhere from 150 to thousands of years. One of the longest occurring in Mesopotamia (TIme Maps Ltd., 2017). The United States is a baby compared to the B.C. societies and even Europe or Africa. This current country that was founded in 1776 is young but has overstayed it’s welcome and is overdue for a change. Kierkegaard is considered one of the founders of existentialism and he believed that in order for an individual to have meaning they had to accept God (a higher source of love) in their lives (Evolutionary Existentialism, 2000). The time that is coming is going to be hard and unless people come together as a community of like-minded individuals, Homo Sapiens will go the way of the Neanderthal; bye-bye.

The Earth is alive and has a cyclical rhythm. History repeats itself but the devastation that is being wreaked is only from the advent of industrialization right after WWII. As money, jobs and the economy grew, so did the population. Because of this boom the planet is now overworked and pushed to the brink, unable to handle the exponential growth of one species: humans.    Major extinctions are normal, and they seem to come every 60 – 100 million years. The last major one occurred 65 million years ago and marked the beginning of the Tertiary period (History, n.d.) The Earth is now due for another one and with all the added stressors there are many signs indicating that the next one is imminent. The sea levels are rising, the carbon dioxide saturation is the highest in history, the coral reef is dying, and the poles are the smallest they’ve ever been.

Sea Levels

The “global sea level has been rising over the past century, and the rate has increased in recent decades. In 2014, global sea level was 2.6 inches above the 1993 average – the highest annual average in the satellite record (1993-present). Sea level continues to rise at a rate of about one-eighth of an inch per year.” (NOAA, 2016) Eight out of ten of the world’s largest cities with over 35% of the worlds’ population are near the coast. One billion people live at sea level or just a few meters above it. The bulk of these people are living in the poorest countries of Southeast Asia, the west coast of Africa, and on the Mediterranean Sea (Hinrichsen, 2017). The US has some of the lowest concentrations of population but contribute some of the largest percentages of greenhouse gases and consume most of the worlds’ oil. The people who are being most effected can’t do anything to stop it because they are not the one’s causing it. Time to wake up America and see what all our industrialization has done to the Earth and her bounty. Time to heed ancient philosophers like Kierkegaard and realize that the power to change this path is inside all of us. We as individuals have power.

A reason for the rise in sea levels can be that the poles are melting and at a faster rate than previously projected. In 2003 NASA published an article stating the “sea ice that survives the summer and remains year-round-called perennial sea ice-is melting at the alarming rate of 9 percent per decade” (Ramanujan, 2003). Last year they reported that the perennial sea ice had melted at a rate of 13.5 percent per decade (Vinas, 2017). When the poles melt, the seas rise. When the seas rise, people and our environment are drastically affected. Saltwater encroaches in on fresh water like the Everglades in Florida. It invades the aquifer and porous limestone bedrock that lies under the state and contaminates the fresh water that feeds millions of people in south Florida. Higher sea levels mean catastrophe not only for people but for the environment and ecosystems as well.

Carbon Dioxide

Another imminent problem is Carbon Dioxide (CO2). CO2 is a man-made green-house gas that is most detrimental to the environment. It acts like a thermal blanket around the earth absorbing heat and warming the surface. The CO2 level is a measurement of how much carbon dioxide is in the atmosphere in parts per million and was first taken in 1958 by Charles D. Keeling. The samples are taken from remote areas so as not to get any interference from nearby cities. It is climbing faster than anticipated with levels exceeding all prior ones in history. Scientists can take ice core samples and analyze the Earth’s atmosphere dating from when time began. In 2013, CO2 levels surpassed 400 ppm for the first time in recorded history (NASA, 2013).

Coral Bleaching

Coral bleaching is a worldwide dilemma. One of the largest is the Great Barrier Reef that lies along the coast of Australia and covers 132,974 square miles. According to the article, second wave of mass bleaching unfolding on Great Barrier Reef, written by the Australian Government “The aerial survey of the Reef, the first for 2017, found severe bleaching in offshore reefs from north of Ingham to the northern extent of the survey near Cairns. This year more bleaching is being observed in this central part of the Reef, which last year escaped widespread severe bleaching.” A separate study published by multiple global scientists said that “During 2016, record temperatures triggered a pan-tropical episode of coral bleaching, the third global-scale event since mass bleaching was first documented in the 1980s” (Terry P. Hughes, 2017). If the coral reefs die so does our fisheries and once the fisheries go, the life pyramid will deteriorate.

Homo Sapiens have evolved little over the past 200,000 years of existence. Since appearing in Southern Africa and migrating into Europe and Asia our basic design has not varied, “…Cro-Magnon looked so much like us that, if dressed like us in modern clothes, they would be lost in the crowds of any European or American city (Sitchin, 1991). Up until now there has been a lot of learning like agriculture, herding, social structure, etc. The first time our species took an evolutionary leap was with the eating of meat. This caused our brains to grow because of the good fats humans were now ingesting. Homo sapiens began to flourish and create a society. Laws and social structure were formed. Ancient Sumer is credited with creating most of the social structure still used today. Language, writing, art, music, and much more is found on the clay tablets discovered within the last century. This is when homo sapiens last evolved. Technologically people have reached their peak, the evolution that is needed now is emotional. The world has only been focused on technology since the industrial revolution and it has brought us to the brink of collapse. That knowledge has done more damage in the past 100 years than all the other years of people existing on the planet combined. To survive the upcoming shift, the individual must be realized.

Changes are needed on so many levels, where should one start? It’s time to learn to grow your own food, produce your own energy, store your own water from rain and find modes of transportation to take the place of cars. We see the biggest change that is needed though is internal. Individuals need to wake up from their mainstream slumber and pay attention to what is going on around them. The underlying theme of these changes is self-sufficiency. Self-sufficiency is a core existentialist belief. Reliance on yourself is a “perceived necessity for self-construction and is fundamental to existential thought, because for existentialists there is no reason to suppose that meaning comes prepackaged along with life itself” (Evolutionary Existentialism, 2000). By being self-sufficient a person is the ultimate individual and existentialism believes in individuality. On Kierkegaard’s tombstone, it simply reads The Individual (Evolutionary Existentialism, 2000). By realizing one’s own individuality a person gives themselves meaning and purpose. Though most existentialists also believe that in being an individual, there is no connection to anything else, some went against that common theme and interpreted it differently. Kierkegaard was one of them. Considered a founder of existentialism he valued religion and God. Believing that one can only reach the true meaning of oneself by accepting God as the absolute higher power (Evolutionary Existentialism, 2000). He also wrote of the three phases of authenticity; the aesthetic, ethical and transformative phase. In that last stage, a person accepts God into their lives and therefore transcends to a higher state of being. He illustrates these phases in all his works just in different ways.

When an individual realizes the full potential he/she possess, it gives their lives meaning and purpose. Ultimately that is what every human being is searching for on Earth: meaning. By creating that meaning a human’s true design is fulfilled. With a shift of the mind; an opening and cleansing of the pineal occurs. An acceptance that every person has a path and that the way to find that path is by letting more love in. Frequencies are found in every part of our world and affect everyone’s reality, what is seen and felt. Love is a frequency that resonates through the human body and touches every molecule in the DNA strand. While there is no “real” science to back that up there are professionals in the medical and scientific world that provide evidence to support this.

In the article Living in the Love Vibration, written by Dr. Shirley Marshall, Ph.D., she talks about the law of attraction and how what people project outwardly is what they will receive inwardly. She says that “when we live in the love vibration, our energy resonates at a high frequency and we express the God-qualities of compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, respect, generosity, joy, peace-all that inspires, empowers and enhances life” (Shirley Marshall, n.d.) This is the way the homo-sapiens’ species is to evolve, by accepting love and projecting that love back out.

In Kierkegaards’ Fear and Trembling he describes the greatest love of all between Abraham, Isaac and God. Abraham had waited almost a hundred years for his son Isaac to be born. Throughout that time, he never lost faith in God, always believing his son would come. After Isaac was born, God told Abraham to take him to Mount Moriah and sacrifice him. Abraham didn’t doubt or falter. He had faith, not just a belief, that God had a plan and loved him. When Abraham arrived at the top of the mountain, he bound Isaac and right before he was about to perform the sacrifice he saw the ram God had left for him to use instead of his son (Kierkegaard, 1983). Because Abraham never faltered he ascended to a higher level that day. He held fast to his faith, faith that he had a higher purpose, a destiny. He didn’t question God but instead took solace in the knowledge that everything was going to be ok. Kierkegaard gives a good example to follow. By embracing faith and absolute knowledge, Abraham evolved in the most important way the current population needs to also. If he had taken the easy way out and committed suicide or sacrificed something else in Isaac’s place he would have died never realizing his full potential, his chosen path. Abraham went on to be an important part of the Jewish religion, a prophet and holy man in his own right.

In conclusion extinction is imminent and evolution is mandatory. If people can realize they are light born, like stars, then maybe a few will be saved.

The I Ching states that “from chaos, stars are born” so is true for the human race. This is a time of chaos. Everything humanity has known for the past thousands of years is about to change. The Earth is going to shake off the general public like fleas from a dog and it won’t be pretty. It won’t be accomplished through just one device either. It will be a combination of factors; disease, war, famine, severe weather, economic and environmental displacement.

One way to prepare is for people to evolve mentally. Love needs to be a focus in the general populations lives. Both taking it in and letting it out. People have stressed the system to a point beyond repair and never seen in history.

Unless major changes are made by society and the individual, catastrophe will ensue.

The time to act is now. The time for change was yesterday…I’m aware, are you?

All we have is bliss.

One Love.

Your Pineal and Why It’s so Important

The pineal is where it all starts. In this article you will read about science and philosophy. The Ying and the Yang. It is meant to make us aware. To help us begin our transformation and fulfill our true potential. We are born with awesome powers, powers that are God given. How deep down the rabbit hole are you willing to go?

Whаt is thе Pineal Glаnd?

First written about by Galen of Pergamon (ca.130-ca. 210 CE), the pineal was known to civilizations well before that. The mother tongue that originated out of Africa between 50 and 70, 000 years ago consisted of clicks and vibrations using the roofs of their mouths. This pattern of language directly activated the pineal by causing it to vibrate and resonate. The gland was featured in the Sumerian and Egyptian cultures as well, dating back to at least 7000 CE.

Galen was a Greek doctor and philosopher living in Rome and the leading medical authority from the first to the seventeenth century AD. Galen discusses the pineal in his anatomy book titled; On the usefulness of the parts of the body. He attributed its name to the resemblance of a pine nut. It wasn’t until much later that a more detailed description was applied.

The pineal іѕ actually a small, рinecone shaped gland in between the two hemispheres of the brаіn and is a part of the endocrine system. It contains mainly pinealocytes, which are cells that produce the hormone melatonin; and glial cells, which are a particular type of brain cell that support neurons (the cells that transmit information to other cells). Itѕ function isn’t fullу undеrѕtооd. Rеѕеаrсhеrѕ do know that it produces аnd rеgulаtеѕ the hormone melatonin which plays a huge role in dictating our circadian rhythm, affects hormonal cycles and helps protect the body from cell damage caused by free radicals. Also referred to as “the third eye or your lizard brain” it is found in all vertebrates. In less evolved animals it resembles an eye and is larger than in humans.

Thе pineal glаnd plays a rоlе іn the regulation оf fеmаlе hоrmоnе levels. It mау also аffесt fеrtіlіtу аnd a woman’s mеnѕtruаl сусlе. That’s duе in part tо thе mеlаtоnіn it рrоduсеs аnd excretes. A 2016 ѕtudу suggests that mеlаtоnіn mау аlѕо help protect аgаіnѕt саrdіоvаѕсulаr issues ѕuсh аѕ аthеrоѕсlеrоѕіѕ аnd hуреrtеnѕіоn. Hоwеvеr, mоrе rеѕеаrсh nееdѕ tо bе dоnе on thе роtеntіаl funсtіоnѕ and effects оf melatonin.

What do Problems with the Pineal Look Like?

There іѕ not a lot of information on whаt problems wіth the ріnеаl gland lооk like. Very rаrеlу tumors will form within it. These are evident in people who are considered “late bloomers”. Since it directly affects hormones and how they’re released, some people don’t enter puberty till they are older. The opposite can also happen and presents itself, especially in girls, as the early onset of puberty. However, it seems аѕ thоugh the main ѕуmрtоmѕ соmе frоm thе pressure these tumors саuѕе, rаthеr thаn сhаngеѕ іn hоrmоnе рrоduсtіоn. Pеорlе can also gеt calcifications, these are more prevalent in older adults. Calcifications show up as deposits on the pineal.  This mау соntrіbutе tо certain tуреѕ of dementia in оldеr people. In children, calcifications affect thе sexual organs аnd ѕkеlеtоn.

Although there is research about the pineal gland and its functions, there is more unknown than known.

Why is the Pineal Important?

More important than the scientific explanation of this tiny gland is the spiritual importance it holds. We are light born from the stars. The I Ching states that “from chaos stars are born”. ME considers the pineal to be the gateway to inception. The doorway to ascension. We provided research that explains technically, using medical terminology, what the pineal is but don’t be fooled. Our “modern science” is unable to fully discover what that pinecone shaped gland is capable of. What we, as creatures crafted with a purpose, are able to achieve.

Thе fаmоuѕ philosopher Renae Dеѕсаrtеѕ (1596-1650) dеѕсrіbеd thе ріnеаl glаnd аѕ the “principal seat оf the soul.” Yоu’vе probably hеаrd of thіѕ glаnd as thе “third еуе,” which is often confused with the mуѕtісаl chakra роіnt residing rіght іn the mіddlе of уоur еуеbrоwѕ. Even though they are commonly interchanged, they are in fact two different parts of the human body.

It turns оut though that thеѕе іdеаѕ аrеn’t tоо fаr оff. Thе ѕmаll, rісе-ѕіzеd еndосrіnе organ, knоwn аѕ thе pineal glаnd, ѕіtѕ аlоnе in thе mіddlе оf thе brаіn, at the tip top of your spinal cord аnd lеvеl with the еуеѕ. It has light-transducing properties that have given it the name “third eye” but is different from the Anja Chakra.

So then how does the pineal affect us chemically? Melatonin, pinoline and DMT are all produced within it and are highly effective hormones. We’ve already discussed melatonin. Pinoline is methoxylated tryptoline (5-methoxytryptoline) and is produced during the production of melatonin. DMT (N, N-Dimethyltryptamine) is a byproduct of the synthesis of neurotransmitters like serotonin, melatonin, and tryptophan. It is a chemical found in all mammals and thousands of plants. It is a hallucinogenic similar to LSD and psilocybin but instead of altering your relationship with the existing world, you are transmitted to another realm. Discovered in the 1950’s it wasn’t well researched until Dr. Rick Strassman. He was a psychologist and psychopharmacologist who led the first new human research from 1990-1995 on the effects of DMT. It is naturally produced in the pineal gland during extraordinary conditions of birth, deep intimacy, extreme physical stress, trance like meditation, and near-death experiences. It also alters our dream consciousness when it is released into the bloodstream during the Rapid Eye Movement phase of sleep. DMT links the body and spirit because of its relationship to visionary experiences and non-ordinary states of transcendent consciousness. Dr. Strassman calls DMT the Spirit Molecule. ME will have another post soon going deeper into DMT, what it is, how you can obtain some and the therapeutic benefits from it.

In terms of spiritual experiences, melatonin quiets the body and mind, allowing access to higher consciousness. Both pinoline and DMT, secreted by a healthy, activated pineal gland, are psychoactive, causing changes in perception, mood, consciousness, cognition and behavior. Because the pineal is bathed in highly charged cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and has more blood flow per cubic volume than any other organ, it may well be the gland with the highest concentration of energy in the body.

Given its important role, it is not surprising that a healthy, activated pineal gland has been connected with spirituality for millennia. Its pinecone shape is found in art and artifacts of many ancient traditions, where it is associated with enlightenment and immortality. Ancient Egyptians revered this tiny gland and even preserved it separately during the mummification process.

The activated pineal gland can also influence our experience through vibration. According to research by the HeartMath Institute, rhythmic vibrations can have a powerful effect on our cognition, emotions, and physical state. We know this intuitively, and we experience it directly when we sense the effects that music has on our mood, memory, and physiology. In the early 1980s, the French musician Fabien Maman researched the effect of sound vibrations on cells; he found that sounds can destroy cancer cells and invigorate healthy ones. Rhythm entrainment, also called resonance, happens when two wave forms begin to oscillate together at precisely the same rate. When the hypothalamus and pituitary entrain with the pulsing vibration of the pineal, our entire system can shift toward harmony. Realities are only as we perceive them – light comes in, hormones transmit signals, the brain translates/interprets. Doesn’t that beg the question; What other realities can I construct?

Things That Effect the Pіnеаl Gland

  • Calcification іѕ thе bіggеѕt рrоblеm fоr the ріnеаl gland. Fluoride accumulates іn the pineal mоrе than
аnу оthеr organ and lеаdѕ to the formation оf phosphate сrуѕtаlѕ, resembling grains of sand on imagery tests. Aѕ the glаnd hаrdеnѕ duе to the crystal production, lеѕѕ mеlаtоnіn, pinoline and DMT are produced, аnd rеgulаtіоn of уоur wаkе-ѕlеер сусlе gеtѕ dіѕturbеd. Could this be why older people are unable to sleep through the night and typically wake up in the early morning hours?
  • Rеѕеаrсh also shows that fluоrіdе hаrdеnіng ассеlеrаtеѕ sexual dеvеlорmеnt іn children, particularly іn gіrlѕ. Thіѕ іѕ a ѕеvеrе рrоblеm as a ѕtudу frоm 30 years аgо ѕаіd 40% of Amеrісаn сhіldrеn undеr 17 wеrе fоund to hаvе ріnеаl саlсіfісаtіоn іn рrосеѕѕ. Sіnсе then, we’ve ѕееn сhіldrеn еxреrіеnсе thе еаrlу оnѕеt оf puberty.
  • In addition to fluoride, hаlogen elements like сhlоrіnе and brоmіnе can accumulate, damaging the ріnеаl glаnd. These chemicals can be found in heavily polluted environments, especially from pesticide runoff.
  • Cаlсіum supplements аlѕо cause рrоblеmѕ. Without еnоugh vіtаmіn D–64% оf Amеrісаnѕ аrе vitamin D dеfісіеnt–саlсіum dоеѕ not bесоmе bіоаvаіlаblе аnd calcifies human tіѕѕuе, іnсludіng thе ріnеаl gland.
  • Psychotropic drugs inhibit a person’s melatonin production as well as other endocrine effects.
  • About one fifth of all prescription medications are fluoridated. This, in conjunction with drinking fluoridated water, is enough to cause an adverse reaction.

Ways to Improve the Function

There are many ways to increase the pineal’s function and decalcify it. Reducing fluoride intake, ingesting foods that cleanse, earthing, sungazing, and meditation/chanting will all have positive outcomes.

Eliminating fluоrіdе mау bе the best initial ѕtер fоr rеduсіng hеаlth concerns. This will increase the blood flow to your pineal gland. Use fluoride-free tооthраѕtе, аvоіd tар water (especially when cooking as it becomes more concentrated at high temperatures), and drink fіltеrеd wаtеr. Pay attention to the type of filtration system as some filters, especially reverse osmosis, can take out the healing and vital properties of water. A fluoride tester is a sure way to test all ingested liquids.

Food is the second best way to fight off calcification. Stay away from highly processed foods and teas that have been brewed with tap water. Eаt calcium-rich foods rather thаn tаkіng саlсіum supplements. There are many things you can eat to help cleanse; spirulina, water cress, cilantro, holy basil, chlorella, wheat grass, beets, raw cacao. Basically, any nutrient dense food high in antioxidants that will fight the free radicals in your body.

Sun-gaze and earth as much as possible. If you’re in a sunny state, Vіtаmіn D can be obtained from just 15-20 minutes of sunlight a day. During the first 30 minutes after sunrise and before sunset, a person can look at the Sun without hurting their retina’s. At these times the Sun is cresting the curvature of our world, creating packed photons of light particles that are able to penetrate into your pineal via your eyeballs.

Earthing is also vital to the awakening journey. We are the only creature born into the garden, yet we live completely separate from it. How many days do we go in a row without taking our shoes off and connecting our bare feet to the Earth? Only soles made from natural materials will allow us to tap into the energy. This electromagnetic charge in turn hones our instincts and helps awaken the pineal.

Chanting and meditating have been used to stimulate the pineal since words were put into existence. Focusing on that little gland during meditation can cause a tremendous amount of healing. Chanting, like the ancient languages, makes the pineal vibrate. Both practices have positive effects on the overall function.

The road that we have chosen is not easy. Becoming aware that there is a better way is the first step. Every day is a struggle to remind ourselves of which way to go. Homo Sapiens have not changed since we first appeared in Africa 200,000 or so years ago. Instincts are a part of our physiological makeup and vital to our successful survival. The pineal gland is one very important tool that we are born with. By feeding it the natural resources that are abundantly available through our surroundings, we can sharpen our intuition, raise our awareness and spark a shift.

All we have is Bliss.

One Love.
